Mark and Dorcas Nicholson run Rehoboth Ministry in Bulawayo where they care for several orphaned children. In the report below Mark thanks all our generous donors at Seeway Trust for the assistance you have provided over the years.
Dorcas and I thank God for all of you for helping the ministry in Zimbabwe. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
Dorcas leads a community project in our local area helping people with a wide range of needs such as food, clothing and money for medication. She also does signing for the deaf community at Bulawayo Baptist Church (see photograph below)
We have two children who are sponsored by Seeway Trust in the UK and we are very grateful for that. The need here is huge so if you would like to sponsor someone please speak to George and Sally.
I run a ministry from our local church working with homeless people and people with alcohol and mental health issues. We provide money for medication, food, clothing, or any other needs the people have. As well as counselling and teaching from the Word. This has become more and more difficult with the situation in Zimbabwe as there are more people who need help than ever before. Please pray that the Lord gives us the wisdom how to help people with a wide range of needs.
Every Christmas we have a feeding programme (feed a family for Christmas) as many people go through the Christmas period with very little or nothing to eat. Dorcas and I buy the basics for the people such as Millie meal (staple diet), cooking oil, sugar, beans, tea etc. This has a wonderful impact on the community and this year we are hoping to do it again. Our aim is to feed two hundred families at a cost of $ US 25 each, people who are less fortunate than us with some living in abject poverty. It’s also a chance to minister to people and share the love of God. If you would like to help with this amazing project please contact Seeway.

All the boys are doing well with Panashe and Kennedy graduating the course they started in two weeks. It is a Christian run course that teaches the boys all types of building work as well as other life skills. The course is free and is run by a Christian organisation and the boys (now young men) have completely changed in a great way.
Nkosi is running a shop in the town centre in partnership with Chantelle (step daughter) who lives in South Africa. The shop is not a huge success as people just haven’t got much moneymhere but it is starting to turn the corner so hopefully in the next few months the shop will start earning money.
Matthew is at home a lot of the time doing odd jobs around the home as well as part time work in the community. Matthew was doing the course with Panashe and Kennedy however it didn’t work out for him as he didn’t like it. We are praying Matthew finds a full time job but the situation is getting worse in Zimbabwe so his prospects don’t look that good with 95% unemployment here.
James, Jacob and Bheki are still at school. The twins are in form two and Bheki is in form three. All three boys struggle with the demands of school. Please pray for all three boys.
Nhlanhla is at university in South Africa studying business commerce. He is doing really well and coming to the end of his first year. Thank you to the people who help pay for his education. We really appreciate the help you give us. If you would like to help Nhlanhla please contact Sally and George of Seeway Trust.
Ozlo has completed a short course he was on and is now driving a taxi in South Africa. He would like to do a longer course at university and he is saving to do this.
Left: Mark and Docas’ grandson Malachi with the twins, his favourite uncles!! Right: Mark and Panashe who he rescued as a baby.
Precious is a different story. A few months ago, Precious left home and did not return. She has had no contact with Dorcas or me at all. The last we heard she was in Harare. Precious who never had a motherly relationship with her son, Malachi left without him.
Malachi (grandson) is a delightful three year old who loves being with us, he is adored by all his uncles. Malachi is at a very well run pre school. I am still a bit in shock that Precious would leave him after the upbringing she has had. Please pray for His guidance for the best way forward with Malachi.
As you may be aware our car that has been such a blessing to us over the years in every aspect of ministry and family life was now old and causing many problems. Dorcas and I would like to thank those of you who kept the car running for so many years. A month ago we said goodbye to our car as someone in the UK sent us the funding to buy a new vehicle. We now have a beautiful Toyota Corolla.
Dorcas and I were at the garage waiting to have a car inspection done on another car we were considering buying however we then found out through the mechanic this Corolla was up for sale. The mechanic said straight away that we should buy it as he had done the last service on it. He told us it was in immaculate condition also we knew the owner of the car. Dorcas and I bought the car that day. Thank you all again for keeping our old car on the road for so long and thank you to the person who funded our new car. You are all a huge blessing to the family and ministry.
God bless you from Mark and Dorcas and family
